FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About the Lomo Fino and el Brujo

What technical level of MTB is required for the Full Day Downhill MTB in Cusco – Lomo Fino and El Brujo?

This tour is designed for intermediate to advanced riders. Expect tight singletrack, loose rocks, Inca stairs, technical drops, and natural rock gardens. You should be confident with braking, weight transfer, and cornering on steep terrain. Beginners or riders with only urban/XC experience are not recommended.

Can I rent a bike if I don’t bring my own?

Yes. We provide high-quality full-suspension enduro MTBs (Commencal, Polygon, or similar) included in the tour. All bikes are tuned and inspected before the ride. You may bring your own, but consider airline transport costs and pre-ride maintenance.

How does altitude affect the Full Day Downhill MTB in Cusco – Lomo Fino and El Brujo?

We start at elevations of 14,061 ft (4,286 m) and 13,852 ft (4,223 m), with sustained descents. Altitude can cause shortness of breath, fatigue, or mild headaches. Arriving at least one day before in Cusco and staying hydrated will help acclimatization.

What terrain can I expect on these trails?

Lomo Fino and El Brujo feature technical singletrack, rock gardens, Inca stairs, switchbacks, narrow paths, and mixed flow-and-rock sections. The scenery includes Andean ridgelines, eucalyptus forests, and panoramic Cusco Valley views.

What bike and protective gear is included?

We include a full-suspension enduro bike, certified full-face helmet, gloves, and elbow/knee pads. Chest protectors are available on request. All gear is suited for downhill and enduro terrain.

What should I bring for the tour?

Layered technical clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, hydration pack or CamelBak, personal medication, and MTB shoes with good grip. Optional: your own pedals, GoPro, or protective gear if preferred.

Is there vehicle support during the ride?

Yes. A support vehicle follows the group, and our guides carry tools, spare parts, and radios. If needed, you can skip a section and join the shuttle.

What happens if there’s bad weather?

In the Andes, light rain or mist won’t stop the ride, but in case of thunderstorms, landslides, or unsafe trail conditions, the guide may alter or reroute the itinerary for safety.

How many people are in each group?

We keep groups small, between 2 and 6 riders, to ensure safety, personalized guiding, and smoother descents.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes. Riders must have travel insurance covering adventure sports, specifically downhill mountain biking.
