Itinerary

LAMAY ENDURO MTB TOUR – FULL-DAY GRAVITY RIDE

07:30 a.m. – Hotel pickup in Cusco (3,399 m)
Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We head toward the Sacred Valley through a scenic mountain road to the traditional village of Lamay, where our base is located.

09:00 a.m. – Arrival at Sapacto (4,300 m) – Setup and Briefing
After an hour-long vehicle ascent, we reach the remote community of Sapacto, beside a highland lagoon often surrounded by llamas, wild geese, and mountain gulls.

At this point:

  • We deliver and adjust full-suspension bikes.
  • The guide provides a full safety briefing and line overview.
  • We check brakes and gear, and warm up with a short ride.

Ride 1: Sapacto to Lamay

  • Distance: 12.4 km
  • Descent: -1,200 m
  • Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
  • Trail type: Technical singletrack with natural sections

This ride starts with fast, flowing segments across the high puna, descending into eucalyptus forest trails. Expect:

  • Quick flow lines and natural berms
  • Loose terrain, stone staircases, and tight turns
  • Crossings through ancient pre-Inca canals and farming communities

A mix of speed, challenge, and beauty that defines Andean enduro.

11:30 a.m. – Box Lunch in Lamay (2,950 m)

We return to the town of Lamay for a local box lunch to refuel and hydrate. Bikes are checked and adjusted before the second descent.

12:15 p.m. – Shuttle to Huama (4,300 m)

We ascend again to Huama, another high Andean community with panoramic views of the Urubamba range, hidden lakes, and terraced fields.

Ride 2: Huama to Lamay

  • Distance: 8.4 km
  • Descent: -900 m

  • A dense eucalyptus forest for the final stretch

Every line demands focus and decision-making, making it a perfect trail for riders seeking challenge and flow.
