FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
About Sacred Valley Enduro MTB

1. Is this tour suitable for beginners?

No. Sacred Valley Enduro MTB: La Maxima & Urquillos Flow Epic Ride is designed for intermediate and advanced mountain bikers. Participants should have prior experience on technical singletrack, including loose gravel, Inca stairs, natural berms, and steep descents. Confident braking, balance, and line selection are essential for enjoying this tour safely.

2. What type of bike and protective gear is included?

We provide a high-end full-suspension mountain bike suitable for enduro and technical descents. The package includes a certified helmet and cycling gloves. Knee pads and additional protection can be provided upon prior request at no extra charge. Riders are also welcome to bring their own gear if preferred.

3. How much riding will we actually do?

The tour includes two main descents: La Máxima at 11.2 km with -1,000 m of descent, and Urquillos Flow at 5.5 km with -1,160 m of descent. Each trail takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the group’s pace. You will spend around 4 hours on the bike during the day, with shuttles between the trails and rest stops in between.

4. What kind of terrain will we encounter?

Expect technical singletrack with loose rock, natural berms, Inca stairs, ancient communal paths, stone steps, fast sections, tight corners, switchbacks, and forest trails. The terrain varies between open highland areas, canyons, and forested sections, requiring bike control and focus.

5. What is included in the lunch and snacks?

6. What happens if I get tired or want to skip a section?

Our support vehicle is available at designated points to assist any rider who prefers to skip a part of the trail or take a break. The priority is your safety and enjoyment. Riders can rejoin the group later or wait comfortably at a rest area.

Yes. The route passes near traditional Andean communities, ancient Inca paths, and areas of agricultural terraces that are still in use today. Riders will experience authentic interactions and see how modern life blends with Inca heritage.

8. Is altitude sickness a concern?

The tour starts at high altitude and descends progressively. Most riders do well as long as they have spent at least two days acclimatizing in Cusco. Staying hydrated and listening to your body is important. The guide will monitor the group and assist if anyone feels unwell.

9. What is the best time of year for this tour?

The dry season from April to October offers the best conditions, with stable weather and dry trails. The rainy season (November to March) adds more technical challenge due to wet and muddy terrain but is still manageable with appropriate gear.
