This department is located in the Southeast of Peru. The name comes from the Quechua word "Puna" in english it means "high Earths” is over 3830m and average temperature is 5ºC. Is one of the few Andean departments of the Peru that counts with a flat relief in most of the territory.

The National Reserve del Titicaca, established on October thirty first in 1978. There’re great amount of animal and vegetable species that habit the peninsulas, bays and small beaches around this blue lake.

This region has a cultural, artistic, millenarian legacy among them archaeological sites of the Tiawanaco culture, the main attraction for the worldwide tourists, is the lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, in the lake are located the Uros floating islands, Amantani, Taquile, Sausy, Anapia, isla del Sol and isla de la Luna, the last two islands pertaining to the country of Bolivia, all it makes a wonderful landscape to practice the conventional and adventure tourism, also there’re nice routes and without presence of tourists, where is possible to practice mountain bike tours, from 1 up to 5 day depending of the time and acclimatization of the participants.
