SUMMARY

The National Reserve of Pampas Galeras-Barbara D'Achille, created in 1965 in memory to the journalist who wrote the ecological page in the newspaper El Comercio. Is located in Lucanas province, Ayacucho department, the South Andes from Peru. Over 3800m and 5200m in a plain of 6,500 hectares, you have within the territory of Lucanas. They are the more representatively and abundant species of all Peru and specially in this reserve, at the moment are 150,000 Vicuñas protected by the Andean communities and the government of turn. Other mammalian presents in the Reserve are: the Andean fox or Atocc, the Vizcacha, the Taruca or Deer, the Muca, the Weasel, the Huanaco, the Andean Cóndor, the Andean Eagle. The vegetation characteristic of the Reserve is the Pajonal, the Ichu, the Tola, the Senecio, the Queñual, the Quishuar, the Puya Raimondi and many other plants species, next to their small snowed caped, mountains, lagoons, rivers, microclimates, canyons and rest of their geographic features create a spectacular view impact of this reserve.

PROGRAMME

06 Hrs. We leave from your hotel and 2 hours travel in our four wheel drive by the highway to Cusco up to 4400m located at the 105 km. There is the flat land and our maximum point to begin our adventure full day Mt. biking tour. Here we will appreciate this missing national reserve of Vicuñas, we do a short walk getting acclimatization and pictures form these animals and also our guide, will show us everything and completely explain about the bike gears. After a good hot and energetic breakfast we will be ready to enjoy this trip.

10 Hrs. Everybody have the helmet, glove testing the bikes and beginning the downhill Mt biking, on pay route serpentine the mountains, crossing small canyon, trying to go more fast of the Vicuñas running away from us, most of the bikers ride between 35 – 60 km per hour. The spectacular views of Andean condor, flying close to our head, on this trip we will ride the Mt. bikes in the small canyons, over the mountains, feeling different temperatures from the Andes to the cost. The asphalt route is for people want fastest possible, but there are single tracks cutting the serpentine, that’s are for adventurous people who want to feel the adrenaline breaking hard, jumping and hitting the rocks on the dirt tracks.

15 Hrs. After the 5 hours have riding, 3800m descending on the bike and 105 km distance we will back to Nasca and will have a delicious lunch included and nice refreshing in the swim pool to spend rest of your time of this day and end of the service.
