Arequipa is xalled "the white city" with 2300m.a.s.l, islocated between the mountain range and South coast of Peru. It was founded on a great valley between Misti volcano (5825m) and Chachani snowscape (6070m) the 15th of August of 1540 by Garci Manuel de Carbajal. At the moment Arequipa as a department has become the center of the commerce and the industry of the south of Peru, also is the second most important and largest city.
Among the main touristic attractions are the Colca and Cotahuasi canyon, the last one is the deepest in the world, also it has snowcaped and volcanoes all of then over 6000m high, extensive and fertile valleys with their mighty rivers beginning on the Andes and finishing at the Pacific Ocean, innumerable archeological sites, national reserve of fauna and flora on the highland and coast, that makes a unforgettable visit for the visitors.
